🖊️How I Actually Plan My Workouts (And Why It Matters)

When people see me scribbling on the whiteboard, they often think I’m just picking a few exercises.
But the truth is — the workout is the last thing I write. Because what really matters most?
The people walking through the door.
I’m already thinking about...
How they’re feeling
What their bodies need today
What kind of support will help them feel good — and keep showing up
🤍 Coaching Is Personal — Not Perfect
No two bodies move the same way. And let’s be honest — no two days feel the same either.
Some mornings, clients bounce in with energy to burn. Other days, they’re tired, tight, or carrying a few aches (physical or emotional).
That’s why I always plan for:
Ages and ability levels
Injuries or modifications needed
Confidence with movement
Where we’re at in the week
And — most importantly — how everyone feels in the moment
Because great coaching isn’t about sticking to a rigid plan. It’s about adapting with care, so people leave feeling proud — not punished.
❌ Why “One-Size-Fits-All” Doesn’t Work
After 24+ years in this industry, here’s what I know for sure:
Forcing people through workouts that don’t suit them doesn’t build strength. It builds burnout, injury, and frustration.
So every session I create includes:
✔️ Modifications for every level
✔️ Movements that can flex up or down
✔️ Real-life, functional exercises
✔️ A no-pressure, no-judgement approach

My goal? To help women feel strong, safe, and supported — not compared or overwhelmed.
💪 I Plan With My Body in Mind Too
I don’t always talk about this…But as a coach, I need to look after myself, too.
There are days I feel full of beans — and others where I need to take it down a notch. So, I lead by example.

That might look like:
Skipping the boxing component
Slowing down high-impact movements
Coaching more than demonstrating
Because listening to my body helps me stay consistent, show up fully, and support others from a place of integrity — not burnout.
And just as importantly, it gives others permission to do the same.
🔁 Structure with Flow — Not Just Reps
There’s real thought behind how I build each session. It’s never just a random mix.
Each class follows a rhythm:
A warm-up to prep the body
Strength to support daily life
Cardio that’s accessible and energising
Core and balance work for stability
A close that leaves you feeling strong, capable, and glad you came

That’s what I want for every client — to walk out feeling uplifted and empowered.
💜 Why This Approach Works — Especially for Women Over 40

Staying consistent doesn’t come from being pushed harder. It comes from:
Feeling safe in your body
Feeling seen in the space
Feeling successful at your own level
When you know you’ll be met with compassion — not comparison — you’re more likely to come back. And that’s where the real magic happens.
