You Don’t Need to Do Something Extreme to Grow

There’s this idea floating around that "growth has to look big."
Like it needs to be bold. Out of the ordinary. A little bit extreme.
Jumping out of planes. Ice baths. Doing something that makes people stop and say, “wow”.
And I get it… I’ve done a few of those things myself.
But lately, I’ve been thinking about something different.
Because the growth I see every day?
It doesn’t look like that at all.
🌿 It’s Much Quieter Than We Think
Most of the time, growth is subtle.
It’s not loud. It’s not dramatic. And no one else even notices it happening.
It looks like:
Walking into a class for the first time
Picking up a weight and not putting it straight back down
Trying something new… even when you’re unsure
And sometimes, it’s even smaller than that.
Just showing up.

😅 A Moment I See All the Time

There’s always a moment in class…
Someone new walks in, a little hesitant. You can see it straight away.
They’re looking around, figuring things out, quietly wondering:
“Can I actually do this?”
And I never rush that moment.
Because I know what’s coming next.
They try one movement. Then another.
It’s not perfect. They might laugh it off. They might second guess themselves.
But they keep going.
And by the end?
Something shifts.
Not in a big, obvious way.
Just a small, internal shift of… “Okay… I did that.”
And that’s growth.
💭 We’ve Been Taught It Has to Be Bigger

I think this is where we get a bit stuck.
We think growth only counts if it’s:
Noticeable
Impressive
Worth sharing
But the truth is…
The most powerful growth happens in moments no one else sees.
The early morning when you didn’t feel like it — but went anyway
The decision to move your body instead of talk yourself out of it
The quiet “yes” when everything in you wanted to say no
It’s not dramatic.
But it builds something real.
That Slightly Uncomfortable Feeling…
You know that feeling?
Not panic. Not overwhelm.
Just that small edge of:
“This feels new” “I’m not 100% sure”
That’s usually it.
That’s where growth sits.
Not in extremes.
Just on the other side of what feels familiar.
🌸 It Doesn’t Have to Be All or Nothing
You don’t need to become a completely different person overnight.
You don’t need to push yourself to the limit to prove anything.
You don’t need to do something extreme to make it count.
Sometimes it’s just:
Trying something new
Taking one small step
Backing yourself… even a little
That’s enough.
What I’ve Learned Over Time...
After years of coaching, this is what stands out the most:
The women who grow the most aren’t the ones doing the biggest things. They’re the ones who keep showing up.

They try again. They lean into the uncomfortable moments. They don’t let one “off” day stop them.
And over time?
That builds strength — not just physically, but mentally too.
🌿 A Thought to Take With You
If there’s something sitting in the back of your mind right now…
Something small you’ve been putting off. Something that feels just slightly out of reach.
That might be your next step.
Not something extreme.
Just something new.
